I am a nature nerd. I mostly pay attention to plants and fungus. I have worked on organic farms, in tree care, landscape installation, forest restoration and as a bicycle mechanic. I love long distance bicycle tours and backpacking trips. These days, I handle art at museums and build custom furniture and cabinets for exhibits. I am currently looking for a less sunny and greener place to live

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I kept hearing about couchsurfing from fellow PCT hikers and after the trail, when I found myself in Olympia, without a place to stay, I decided to try it. I really like the people I meet on trails and in hostels- I imagine a similar experience here

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just finished hiking 640 contiguous miles on the PCT- all of Oregon and 190 miles in California. It's so much less than I had planned, but still feels like an accomplishment.

I can teach bicycle repair, knots/ rigging/ tree climbing, woodworking, plant and mushroom ID, plumbing, greywater, light construction, art matting and framing, fruit tree care
