About Me
My Mission:
To help make travel affordable and comfortable for guests wanting to enjoy more of what this beautiful country has to offer. I hope to leave you inspired, and energized by your time spent in Kingston.
About Me:
I'm a 31 year old single dad, with two awesome boys 6 and 4. My kids spend every other week with me, so 2 weeks a month I have an empty apartment. I grew up in Kingston. I am a first generation Canadian, & the son of a college professor & director of a local women's shelter.
I love getting to know all kinds of different people, and get excited learning about new cultures, and ways of thinking. I am extremely open minded, and will try anything once. I have developed a taste for great Sushi, and am familiar with all the best places to eat or imbibe a tasty beverage in Kingston. I play 7 instruments, and am a fiddle player in a Celtic band. I am currently living in Kingston, where I am completing my 3rd year of a Bachelors of Business Administration.
Personal Philosophy:
I strive to make a positive contribution to the lives of those around me, while pushing myself to be the best father, friend, and person I can be.
Quote of the moment:
" Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive - The Dalai Lama "
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is awesome. As a single Dad I find it hard to travel as much as I would like. I have an adventurers spirit, and would like to hear about all sorts of amazing places that I may never get to visit in person, or may be inspired to visit in the future. I want to share stories, great food, and my life with other awesome and open minded people…
Interests
I am a big history buff, and sometimes dream about witnessing history first hand. I like camping, can clean a fish, and know how to manoeuvre a canoe.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to different kinds of music from many different genres. for example, i dig classical music, classic rock, pop, and hiphop. I currently have been rotating Jack Parow, a South African hip-hop artist, on my playlist.
I think my tastes are pretty varied typically. I am a huge fan of Wes Anderson, and his style of directing movies. The Royal Tenenbaums is a favourite. I also really like the Shawshank Redemption.
As a business student, recently I have been reading books relevant to business. I am a big fan of the author Robin Sharma, who is a leadership consultant. I enjoy anything science fiction, particularly by Simon R. Green. I have also been going through the classics recently, and have read almost all of the Dickens books. I really enjoyed reading The Count of Monte Cristo. Some others: 20 thousand leagues under the sea, Moby Dick, and Tom Sawyer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love whitewater rafting and usually go on a trip every few years. The Ottawa river just north of Kingston, has some of the best rafting (My opinion) and waves in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can give guitar lessons, but can also teach rudimental music theory.
If you are interested in coming to Kingston, I can share my knowledge of the area, and would be happy to make some recommendations based on your interests

I am a story teller at heart. The details may change little over time, and become vague, but this is how I keep my memories alive.
So if you have the time, I would be happy to trade stories with you over a cup of hot ginger tea.
