I am a student currently studying at the University of Edinburgh. I am pretty new to the whole travelling thing, however this should change in the very near future. Hopefully, my 'Countries Visited' should be expanding exponentially.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The primary reason for my joining Couchsurfing is to try to get out and see, but more importantly experience, the world outside my native Scotland. I am very fond of my home country and am proud to call it my home, but I have resolved to use my free time to expand my horizons. This year that involves travelling across Europe. A very exciting prospect.

I also believe that the Couchsurfing platform is more likely to allow me to experience a country in an authentic manner, more likely certainly than a commercial hotel.

Interests

I find that my interests are wide ranging. However, I have a particular love for politics along with art and architecture. I would not describe myself as an authority on any of these topics, but I do love a good discussion involving them. I also find interest in technology and the automotive industry.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is wide ranging and in my opinion there is a time and a place that suits every genre of music. However, I am particularly drawn to the music composed by Handel. It never ceases to convey a certain grandeur. Similarly, the writings of Ernest Hemingway possess a particular draw. As for movies, my taste is also diverse. Although I particularly like those that are of a thought provoking nature.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully, I can share good conversation with my hosts. I love good food and dinners that flow into the early hours. I am always interested to learn new things and to gain new perspectives on our diverse world.
