About Me

Hi there! My name is Matthew and I'm from a reasonably small town in New Zealand just south of Auckland called Hamilton.

I've been travelling since I was 22, mainly in South America. Living in Chile for a year and backpacking South America are two of my biggest highlights.

I work in Public Relations here in New Zealand and have worked as a English Teacher while in South America. My Spanish is probably about an intermediate level and I can have a conversation about pretty much anything to a reasonably good level. I'm willing to help any couchsurfers who are wanting to improve their English.

I'm a friendly traveller and always respectful. I love socialising and meeting new people, whether that over a beer or coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling and I think that experiencing different cultures is one of the most important things to take away from it.

Couchsurfing looks like a great opportunity to do this. It would also be great to have a authentic experience of a place with someone who knows the area well.

It would be also be great to show people around my region and give something back to the Couchsurfing community.
