I am an American currently studying abroad in Wales at Swansea University. While I am over here I want to take advantage of all the great opportunities that present themselves and travel as much as possible. I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, and traveling is by far the best way to embrace both of those.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I travel I want to experience the countries and cities as the locals do. I want to immerse myself in the community and see what it is like to actually live in Barcelona, Stockholm, Bratislava, etc. I know that couchsurfing will allow me to do exactly that. I want to meet kind people who welcome me into their country and form friendships that will last.

Interests

I enjoy basically all outdoor activities, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, etc. I am an especially avid hiker and backpacker, and I love going on multi-day or multi-week backpacking trips anywhere in the world. As well as outdoor activities, I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, trying new foods, playing video games, listening to music, reading, and watching movies.

Favorite Books: Outliers, Tipping Point, and Blink all by Malcolm Gladwell. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the entire length of the Appalachian Trail this past summer. The Appalachian Trail is a long distance hiking trail in the eastern United States, and is over 2100 miles and encompasses 14 states. I hiked it between my second and third years in college. It has been the greatest life experience I have had so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wherever I travel to and whatever city I spend time in I want to learn as much as I can about it and experience as much as I can while I am there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm extremely respectful of other's belongings, and I am very trustful. I want to learn everything I can about those who are willing to host me because it is extremely kind to allow me to stay with them. I would love to take the hosts out for a meal and get to know them better.
