ABOUT ME

I am currently in Long Branch, New Jersey, teaching at a progressive school.

I previously worked to address conflict in all its forms as a nonprofit manager, advocate, facilitator, and community educator in Montgomery County, Md., and Washington, D.C. I continue to promote alternatives to the current criminal justice system and fight to end gender-based violence.

I am very passionate, thoughtful, and attentive. I enjoy simple activities that lead to lasting memories. Those are the best...but I can also be adventurous.

I like to discuss and debate the topics of the day. There is nothing I can think of that I'm not open to addressing or considering. When I am adequately inspired, particularly at night, I can talk for hours about the most convoluted of subjects, usually of a metaphysical nature. My favorite thinker thus far is Krishnamurti.

I am very interested in traveling and have been to some exotic places, particularly in Latin America and Asia. I'm not much for hotels and resorts, but Flamingo Beach in Costa Rica is heaven on earth as far as I'm concerned. At this point, however, I'm most interested in North Africa and the Middle East, for obvious reasons. I don't mind a little danger.

I also like to write. I blog and occasionally write poetry. I used to write novellas when I was younger. I'm a very good editor and a meticulous grammarian because of my background as a journalist.
