CURRENT MISSION

I'm a photographer on a road trip through the US. With a general curiosity, I'm hoping to see as much as I can. I try and avoid the interstates in order to pass through the roads and towns less traveled.

ABOUT ME

I'm a mellow guy with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. Whether that is gained the standard method (books, documentaries, &c) or through simply talking with people I meet along the way is of no importance. I love art, culture, and new experiences. I'm a fan of the outdoors and I love food (my cooking skills are severely underdeveloped, sadly).

PHILOSOPHY

One of my philosophies is based on the importance of relationships one forms throughout life. There's so much to learn and share with each other that this is something that holds a large amount of significance in my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm on the road for the next few months, so I can't quite offer up my home right now. I'm also a student, so I haven't been able to offer up any space (my friend tried doing this and nearly got kicked out of school).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm hoping to start my experience on a positive note. At this point in my life, my engagement with the couch surfing community will admittedly be a bit one sided. I've had some luck meeting random strangers that have opened up their homes/couches to me, but nothing through the couchsurfing community yet. I'd be happy to help with answering questions or advice, though.

Interesses

Art, music, the outdoors, good music, good food, good drinks, bonfires, the ocean (or swimming in general), and travel (foreign and domestic).

Musically, I'm a fan of nearly everything aside from most country – anything from electronic stuff to Yann Tiersen and more.
One of my favorite books is Factotum by Bukowski.
My favorite childhood movie was definitely The Goonies.

I've hiked Mt. Whitney in the Western US – talk about an amazing thing I've done/seen. The experience and view were spectacular.

I'm a photographer, so I can teach you how to use a camera, why it works as it does, &c.
I'd love to learn anything related to art; specifically, it'd be great to be shown a new medium from someone that knows what they're doing with it. I'm also dying to learn alternative processes for photography – wet plate, tintype, &c.
