About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Arguing with people about public policy, mostly on the Internet.

PHILOSOPHY

Pursue something rationally, but do whatever you want to along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not really participated. I am interested in meeting interesting people from everywhere though. I did recommend Couchsurfing to my brother when he was traveling in Vietnam, however, and he met a lot of interesting people through the site.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a tourist, I like London, Córdoba, San Francisco (including the Japanese crepe at the crepe place in Japantown), Dalian, the Scottish Highlands, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Philadelphia. Manhattan is of course awe-inspiring for a little while. In Washington, DC, where I am not a tourist, I like the Freer and Sackler Galleries (Smithsonian Museum of Asian Art) and sitting in the U.S. Court of the Appeals for the DC Circuit for oral arguments.

I spent nine months in London, and I recommend:
-talking to the barristers after work in a Holborn pub,
-walking West from Camdentown Market through Regent's Park,
-meeting students at the London School of Economics/Entertainment
-meeting the sorts of people you encounter on the streets in London,
-the Sir John Soane Museum,
-Middle Temple Inn and the Royal Courts of Justice,
-Jersey yogurt,
-fresh vegetables from Sainsbury's,
-Cafe TPT on Wardour Street,
-the nearly homogeneous vegetarian Chinese buffets around Covent Garden and Soho,
-Masala Zone,
-Sagar on Percy Street,
-Costa's espresso, and
-the little pizza place near High Holborn on Drury Lane.

I have visited:

Canada, France, Spain, Morocco, China, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Greece, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel
