About Me

CURRENT MISSION

firing action potentials through my brain

ABOUT ME

I'm a biology student who finished his bachelor. After a somehow spiritual journey in Nepal and the Indian subcontinent I returned for doing my Master thesis in Animal Biology (which I do more or less motivated..). I'm an open-minded person and very spontanious whenever there is something to do (even too spontanious, some of my friends would say :P). Nevertheless I'm a quite unhurried guy (other people would call it lazy) who prefers reading a book or watching series rather than doing sports or other exhausting things. But of course I love travelling and going out and meeting people. I really like to talk about god, the world, what sort of cheese tastes the most, football, the meaning of life, whisky, philosophy etc.

PHILOSOPHY

I am quite optimistic person even though I don't think the world we live in is "the best" one could think of. It's more about doing the best out of the things you are given (yes yes, the old cliché with the glass which is half-full and half-empty at the same time). I'm not really sure about the meaning of life and why the hell everything around us exists (if it really does...) but I'm not even sure if I care a lot (which does not mean that I don't love to discuss about it).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing, hanging out, whatever I can do. :) Cultural exchange is very important. I'm fighting for a more open world with no borders. Especially in Switzerland where people seem to prefere to close their doors in front of strangers rather than to welcome them, couchsurfing is a great and important thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Quite a few by now, but still too little. They are very diverse as people on CS are, but all my experiences have one thing in common: I'm really glad to have met those people (no matter if it was for hosting, surfing or just hanging out)

Interests

Well, I'm interested in really a lot of things, which sometimes turns out to be a bit of a problem (for example, when deciding what to study or where to travel). On the other hand I'm almost never bored of anything. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well there are quite a lot, especially during my stay in Nepal. There's for example my volunteer service in a Tibetan monastery. It was really amazing living there for six weeks and being soaked by its mythical atmosphere. I got quite spiritual actually. :-) And I also saw how amazing children can be (not only by teaching them but also by playing and having fun).
Another great thing was my ten days Vipassana meditation course I took in Kathmandu. It really changed my view on life and I try to keep on practicing (sometimes more, sometimes less successful :-) ). Well, I would love to discuss more about it with whoever I meet.
