ABOUT ME

Hey there, my name is Mattis Weber, im 21 years old by now and from.... Yes.. Germany ;). I decided to go to New Zealand for 8-10 months cause i wasnt sure what to study. Actually its my second gap year. After 1 year of work as an ambulance driver I was keen on doing something else, seeing the world. Now i cant get myself away from New Zealand cause its just soo beautiful!
I love hiking, i love the challenge, i love the advanture.!
Im travelling with my girlfriend Kathie who i met here. We both having so much fun making music ( guitar), and exploring new instruments like the harmonica or ukulele. Lukily we got 2 guitars at the moment. So prepare yourself for a lot of music ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Im enjoying life so much at the moment and couchsurfing is part of that. Its just great meeting locals, telling stories, cooking together, laughing, doing whatever ;)

Interests

Im a huuge football fan. My club is FC Schalke 04. Even here in new zealand i get up at 3am to see my club playing live. Wearing my jersey and my scarf makes me feel proud.
Im also interested in nearly every other kind of sport. Iused to play tennis a lot in germany. Unfortunately i had a cruciate rupture. So i have to slow down at the moment.
Still its good enough for hking. So if you show me a mountin im gonna climb it. The steeper the better, im living for the challenge!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Fantasy. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones. Thats the stuff which makes my eyes shine bright.
I also love older movies like dances with wolves or the shawshenk redemption, 2 of my favourites.
Im listening to music whenever i can. Music makes the world go round ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Im proud of myself doing a great walk by myself. Beiing alone for a few days was a real challenge - just as sleeping in a tent in the cold winter nights was.
Gonna do it again!

Teach, Learn, Share

Couple of weeks ago i learned how to bake German Bread! Since we know how it works we cant stop doing it ;)
I might teach you a bit of my (limited) guitar skills or just anyting you ask for;)
