ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Matt and I am a 20 year old student from the U.S. This Fall Semester (2011) I will be studying abroad at King's College in London! I've been here for about 2 weeks and the experience in absolutely indescribable. I'm having the time of my life. It's great to meet people from all over the world in this city.

I only have a few months in London, so I really want to take advantage of my proximity to the rest of Europe and travel as much as I can.

I am really open minded, accepting, and friendly. I am very interested in expanding my cultural horizons and experiencing everything I can while I am in Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

Currently I am an open slate. Not to sound too cliche, but I've recently been changing a lot of my opinions about different topics, so I am interested to hear about others' opinions on those topics.

My current goals are to enter Dental school and become a dentist. After, I would really enjoy bringing oral health to less fortunate people around the world. I decided I wanted to do this after participating in the Global Medical Brigades last May. It was such a life-changing experience that I decided I wanted to be able to help people the way I saw the dentists helping them.

I don't currently have a couch to offer, so I will only be surfing. But if my experience is really great, I guarantee I will be offering a couch as soon as I have one!

I haven't surfed anywhere yet, but I am really excited to start.

I am very interested in Biology and science in general. I am particularly interested in the ethics behind the advancement of science and I love to have conversations about the topic.

I enjoy physical activity and exercise. I've swam competitively for most of my life as well as playing tennis (in college) and soccer.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I really love Pixar and Disney movies. My favorite movie of all time is possibly Kung Fu Panda. I also enjoy dramas such as the King's Speech, Inglorious Basterds, City of God, Se7en, and Black Swan.

Some of my favorite movies are older comedies. Animal House, Caddyshack, and Back to School.

My music interests include bands like Arcade Fire, Animals as Leaders, Ben Folds, The Black Keys, E.S. Posthumus, Explosions in the Sky, Grizzly Bear, Jackson Browne, Kanye West, Mumford & Sons, Muse, Pretty Lights, Radiohead, Russian Circles, Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, and Venetian Snares to name a few.

As for books, I really enjoy mysterious books like The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Ten Little Indians, and of course the Harry Potter series.
