ABOUT ME

An open, enthusiastic student with a fascination for people and cultures.

After living in Germany and the UK for study purposes for some time and finishing my Bachelor degree in International Business and Languages, I have now landed in Utrecht for a new degree in Human Geography and Town & Urban Planning. As this course includes people as a phenomenon on one hand and the space surrounding on the other this perfectly fits my personal interest in people and what's thriving them.

As my taste of music is quite varied and heavily depending on moods, I tend to go out in different places and to visit differend kind of concerts. For this, I get to go out in different places too, both in Utrecht and other cities. I also like to spend time with my friends at home or out and about. In order to keep fit I drag myself into the gym three times a week, and I like cooking.

I'm very interested in meeting different people, seeing other places and experiencing new cultures. That's why travelling can be assumed as my nr one passion really. Although famous, very touristy places carry cultural and natural beauties indeed I like to explore the bit less overrun places mostly - over the last years I've travelled through most of Eastern Europe and for this summer the plan is to do the Balkan criss-cross. While travelling I try to find the hidden beauties of cultures and cities and meeting local people is one of the best ways of noticing details you'd normally overlook when your nose is stuck in yet another Lonely Planet. In this way people can really open up your eyes to details!

Although it's beauty and visitworthiness is often underrated I love Utrecht. Smaller and more compact than Amsterdam the old town breathes a historical atmosphere. The city is very well-connected by public transport through the busiest railway station in the Netherlands, directly linking the city to Amsterdam (only 25 minutes!), Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam, The Hague, Eindhoven/Maastricht and the north of the Netherlands.
