ABOUT ME

I'm still pursuing my degree in NUS (National University of Singapore) which unfortunately isn't the place to really enjoy academic uni life, which is why I decided to retire to Denmark through an Exchange program (matupolo.blogspot.com) check out my blog. Anyway, right now I'm studying in DTU also known as Technical university of Denmark, and life is so much different here. I LOVE IT.

I'm actually doing a double degree in industrial systems engineering and business. For those who have no idea what industrial systems engineering is ( -> operations, supply chain). I intend to specialize in finance for my business degree, but right now i'm just studying engineering related modules in my exchange university. anything to do with optimization and programming in C++, Java, yup we can talk about those. But I think we will have better things to chat about.

I guess being here in Denmark has made me realize that I have an accent after all. The ultimate Singaporean accent. Others ask me, "what do you speak in Singapore?" Singaporish? Nah. We speak English. and chinese. And mind you my English is way better than my Mandarin (Chinese).

I'm not a party animal, in fact i get disturbed when others have parties in their dorms. I drink occasionally, love white wine, hates beer. Prefers to sleep at night and wake up in the morning for a fulfilling day ahead.

I play sports, I love racquet games, loves watersports,suck at ball games, loves online computer games (DOTA, viwawa),loves Mahjong etc.

While in Denmark, I found my love for cooking. I love spicy food, so it's actually quite fun remaking certain conventional stuff. Could lime be added? Maybe a little more salt? How about chicken... Erm. I intend to learn baking soon cos I love cakes as well. But yea, those are just part of the learning experience. FOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!! YEA

I love meeting people, hopefully I get to me really interesting people out there when I backpack. Part of my interest is to meet people with interesting personalities (other than beer bingeing), to talk about culture, language differences etc.

兴趣

I'm a big fan of especially racquet games such as tennis, badminton, table tennis etc.! and water sports too, such as swimming, kayaking, windsurfing.

I did Taekwando for about 2 years in the army, and followed by some extra trainings in Korea during my summer programme in Korea University. Although it tears your legs apart, I swear my legs grew longer. My personal opinion, save the fanciful stunts, go for the lower mid (esp on males)

I love playing online games as well, DOTA, Mahjong, Warcraft etc. I love playing board games (not the typical Monopoly) but unconventional ones such as Carcassone, Citadels, etc because a lot of critical thinking and plain humour is involved. Conventional games are also nice because it reminds us of our childhood :)

音乐、电影和书籍

When it comes to movies, I'm a big fan of 3 major categories, horror, adventure and comedy.

When it comes to horror shows, it has to be creative. If you ask me, horror shows have different genres, gore, ghosts or just psychic thrillers. What I enjoy is a show that exhibits creativity, unpredictability and the classic jumps that horror shows are meant to have. Horror shows such as Hostel I & II, Saw I and II only, house of wax, 4bia, Shutter, the eye, the descent.

Comedy shows have to be funny, as simple as that. I enjoy parodies such as Scary movie because it takes something that you have experienced in a alternate genre and twist it into something humourous. And that's entertainment. Also, I'm a big fan of the Simpsons, Southpark (particularly because of the upfront explicit humour and the current issues it incorporates into each episode).

As for adventure shows, I enjoy the puzzles, the cinematic stunts, and of course how the main actors escape death. LOVE Lord of the rings, National Treasure, Indiana Jones.

I'm a big fan of movies, I mean there are other classic movies I enjoy too, such as 12 angry men, Ghost, all in all if it's a good movie, I think it will appeal to anyone and everyone.

I was from the band, I played the flute and the piccolo, and I enjoy Jazz, big band music, 80s to 90s pop and soul.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1) Watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat.

2) Walked into a ghetto area in an unknown area of Brussels, with my backpack, camera hanging from my neck, 1000 euros in my wallet and the whole tourist look.

3) A man sleeping on his dog on the street. Friendship has no boundaries.

4) Stayed till 5am in a lab.

5) Picked up 7 smashes at one go (Badminton).

6) Climbed up the Eiffel Tower in the evening.

7) Spoke Danish for the first time and my friend understood every word of it.

8) Having dinner with ten people from ten different countries. That's the best of all.
