I was born and raised in Karelia- the cold and forested region in very western part of Russia. I like to party and spend time in companies, especially if good music is playing, but at the same time I can enjoy being by myself in a peaceful atmosphere. I am very interested in exploring the World and expanding my mindset, that is why I decided to leave Russia and move to Finland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great platform for travelers. The best way to explore the World is not only visiting places, but also getting to know people living there, and couchsurf allows to communicate without much of shyness.

Interests

I consider music as my main hobby, and I spend a lot of free time listening to various records. I am also a bass guitar player, and recently try to make some electronic music. I am far from being professional, but I have certain stage-playing experience, which is the greatest experience in my life.
I also a big fan of skateboarding and long-boarding, but presently I don't ride boards as much as I used to when I was a teenager.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is like my main mood-setter and I really dig into a lot of different genres, as it really depends on my mood. Recently I listen to a lot of old school hip-hop and electro dance music, house and techno mostly. But I also like to listen to old punk and rock bands, blues, jazz, drum&bass, reggae, dub and many-many others.

I also spend a lot of time watching movies, and my favorite directors are: Jim Jarmusch, Terry Gilliam, Edgar Wright, David Fincher, Andrey Tarkovskiy and many others.

As for my favorite TV shows, they are: Scrubs, HIMYM, Friends and Twin Peaks.

My favorite authors are: Bulgakov, Dostoevskiy, Orwell, Arthur Conan Doyle and Herbert Wells.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to play in a garage rock band when I was a teenager. Playing gigs was one of the most exciting things in my life, very energetic, and at the same time very atmospheric.
