Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met a badass tribe of generous people from all around the world who have shared their stories with me & welcomed me into their homes to show me a slice of what life looks like in their cities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've toured 25 cities in the US and stayed with "friends" I've made on MySpace (remember those days?) & Couchsufing. Sometimes the crew I was touring with would literally ask the audience at the end of the night if they had room for 5 people toting around their inflatable matresses! It was great.

In 2008 I did the same thing in Europe and I fell in love with a city in France called Nantes, so I moved there for almost 6 years.

Interests

Storytelling, performing, writing, sharing delicious meals with good company, connecting with inspiring people who are living their dreams.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: My all time favorite author is Paulo Coehlo. The Alchemist, Warrior of the Light & The Witch of Portobello top my list. Another beautiful book I love is The Prophet by Kalil Gibran. And Illusions by Richard Bach is amazing. Other favorites include: The Celestine Prophecies, The Four Agreements and The Mastery of Love.

As for music my tastes are quite eclectic. I listen to a lot of indie artists but I love the classics too. Here's a short list of some of my favorite artists (this is hard): Michael Jackson, Lianne LaHavas, J. Cole, Osunlade, Hector Lavoe, Mos Def, De La Soul, Corinne Bailey Rae, Frank Ocean, Barry White, Eric Clapton, Aaliyah, Musiq Soulchild, Los Van Van, Los Orishas, Luis Miguel, Common, Pharoah Monch, The Roots, Jill Scott ... and the list goes on ;)

Movies: I'm always up for a good heist flick! Ocean's Eleven, Snatch, Hot Fuzz & Entrapment. I LOVED pictures like Inception, V for Vendetta, The Adjustment Bureau. I also like indie films like Crash, Sex and Lucia, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Le Coach, Les Intouchables, Amelie, City of God & Slumdog Millionaire. Really just depends on my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I put myself on a 25 city tour with no money across the US!

I repeated this adventure in Europe. Three months later, I upped and moved my life across the globe & started anew ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn just about anything creative or having to do with food :) I'm an expert salsa dancer and always willing to share some moves. I recently bought a guitar and am always looking to learn more.
