Overview
About Me
I’m from Chicago, USA. I love meeting new people, exploring new cultures, music and cuisines.
By night I am a writer, musician and organizer and by day, a cultural event coordinator. I love folk and traditional music from around the world and play the cello, sitar and fiddle in the Middle Eastern orchestral, Hindustani and Irish traditions.
I love a long conversation over coffee, tea, a couple pints or shisha!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I recently couchsurfed my way through Iraq and had a wonderful time. I hope to bring that welcoming and generous spirit to people passing through Chicago as well. I want to meet new friends and share new experiences all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Last read: Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar. I enjoy reading James Baldwin, Arundhati Roy and Gabor Mate — anything that weeps like a poem and uncovers a dark corner of the human experience.
Musically all over the map, current obsession is Miles Davis’ Guinnevere
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Played cello in a music video with one of my favorite bands, Fontaines D.C.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn about your life and you as a friend! What you’re passionate about, why you’re traveling and your life at home. I would love to share my favorite spots in Chicago, art, culture and community that I enjoy here. Plus if we can jam together!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to share my friendship, conversation and good times with hosts as well as my experiences growing up in Chicago, playing music and organizing cultural and social justice events.
