Hi! My name is Maureen, I'm grew up in the south of France and am now studying in the UK for my Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. I am half French half British, and am bilingual in French and English. I love travelling and new experiences, especially if I can share them with friends and new acquaintances! I love pets if you have any (huge dog lover especially, but I love all animals!). I like having fun and going out, or staying in and playing games with friends, but also am always up for having a quiet night in watching a good film. I play a bit of guitar and a bit of piano, I love music, I like to cook - I'm creative and like sharing experiences and having nice chats with new people. I'm a feminist, LGBTQ+ friendly. I'm easy going, always up for a laugh and would love to learn more about the world and expand my horizons.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing mostly to find hosts for my future travel destinations! I can't currently host because I am living in university accommodation, but in the future would love to partake in the hosting side of couchsurfing! But currently just hoping to be friendly enough to be welcomed into someone's home :)

Ahh there are so many to choose from!! Here are some of my top pics (which is definitely not an exhaustive list!!!)
Music: Mostly rock and pop music; Arctic Monkeys, Queen, Lorde, Ezra Furman, Alt J, Bon Iver, Pink Floyd... but I also love Jazz! and Musicals (Hamilton, La La Land, Les Mis, A Star is Born)! and also classical music and movie soundtracks... I swear I've got over 100 spotify playlists because I like music so much!
Movies: Inception, First Man, Casablanca, Call me by your name, Zero Dark Thirty, Stuck in Love... the list goes on and on
Favourite books: Harry Potter (woo basic I know ;)), The Catcher in the Rye, and Looking for Alaska by John Green
Favourite TV Shows: Peaky Blinders (!!!! so good would highly recommend if you haven't seen it), Mr. Robot, Friends, New Girl, The Crown (and more) (can you tell I like to watch things? ;))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went surfing in Morocco for a week having never surfed before! and it was AMAZING!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the guitar and piano and I sing! I love to talk about politics or about films and music... I like to cook for people, and learn new recipes. I like to paint and draw, especially portraits. I love board games and game nights! I also enjoy sharing a drink with people and would be really happy to go out to a bar for an evening (perhaps even do a bit of karaoke?!), or just have a glass of wine and a nice meal together! But also super cool with not drinking - anything goes really :-)
I love to share experiences and would love to learn what you have to teach me, and listen to what you have to share! I can also teach you a bit of the languages that I speak if you're interested!
I'm super open to things in general and am usually down to share with and learn from other people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook really good curries and other yummy meals :) I'd love to chat about my experiences and share with them my view of the world (I love to talk about lots of different topics and it's cool to learn about other people's interests!). I can play music and sing, and can definitely share a lovely day or evening with hosts if they'd like to spend some time with me!
