ABOUT ME

Have traveled some including overland to India in 1970 and West Africa from 1973-75 in the Peace Corps and some countries in Europe including Ireland, England, France, and Germany. Went to Scandinavia in May with my daughter to Denmark, Norway and Sweden. I love bicycling, cross-country skiing, hiking and kayaking. Have done long distance bicycling across Wisconsin, Iowa and eastern Canada. Want to do more when I retire. I live on Lake Michigan, one of the Great Lakes. It's a beautiful area.

PHILOSOPHY

What goes around comes around. Life is short. Don't sweat the small stuff and everything is small stuff.

Love listening to opera. Like books about travel and survival. Dervala Murphy is my heroine. Patrick Leigh Fermor is my favorite travel writer. Loved "The Edge of the World" about Magellan's circumnavigation.

My long distance bike rides across eastern Canada, Wisconsin, Iowa, and New Mexico were amazing trips. I also loved teaching in Africa.
