About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Remember my roots and seize a life free of regret

ABOUT ME

Since graduating from college in 2006, my priorities have included traveling, meeting new people and learning the ways of the world firsthand. I was raised in Western New York and have since lived in Perugia, Italy; Orlando, Denver, Chicago and New Orleans, USA and will soon spend 3 months working at an orphanage in Rwanda, Africa.

I spend most of my days wondering why people are a certain way and pondering the meaning of life’s seemingly random occurrences. I have a passion for helping those less fortunate and believe in the power of paying it forward. I am energetic, optimistic and easily amused, so I rarely get bored. I'm a go-getter, but easygoing. I like like to laugh and have a dry sense of humor that I acquired from my witty father and Northeastern-U.S. upbringing.

I am on track to receive my Masters in International Social Work from Tulane University. I'm mildly obsessed with culture, diversity, relationships and finding my role in creating world peace.

I do not eat animals, never leave home without a camera and love Nutella.

PHILOSOPHY

"The challenge is to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you like everybody else."

"Not all who wander are lost."

"Carpe diem."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not been able to host any official CouchSurfers yet, but have my apartment open to visiting friends and family all the time. My New Orleans apartment is typically the central location where groups gather and friends crash after a late night out.

I plan to start hosting Surfers after I return to the U.S. after my 3-month trip to Rwanda in January.

For now, I hope hosts will be kind enough to take me in during my travels. I am eager to dive more deeply into the CouchSurfing community and start building more references along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just getting started - I will be traveling the world throughout the next few months and hope to expand my network and reference base along the way!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2007, I went skydiving over the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado and my parachute did not open, requiring the use of a “back-up” parachute.

This sums up the story of my life, as I often think of a backup plan for the initial plan that never goes as planned while already spiraling into the abyss.

Australia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Peru, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
