ABOUT ME

I´m just a quiet person who likes enjoying simple things in life, like trying new foods, travelling or just chating with friends. I´m not the most talkative guy in the world. I´m more a "listener" than a speaker.
I like nature so when I have time I like walking in the forest or hiking through our national park in Tenerife. Photography is one of my favourite hobbies, and astronomy as well. Actually night photography is something I enjoy a lot: photos of the milky way, stars, the moon, moonlight landscapes and meteorshowers.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. Respect. Racism and intolerance just come from irrational fears, most of the time from lack of education/traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A LOT... a few days ago, talking about that with my wife, we realized that most of the time we have traveled abroad we have done couchsurfing (actually "friendsurfing") since we like staying with friends. We have been to Colombia, Italy, Poland, Austria, Spain, Norway... and in most of the places we have stayed at our friends. It is not only a cheaper way of travelling, it is a way of truly know the local people, culture, gastronomy... and many things you could miss during a "standard" trip.

Interests

Travelling, food, nature, photography, astronomy. Specially those two combined. I have a small telescope and like taking pictures of the moon. Also night landscapes bathed by the moonlight, the milky way, planets, stars, zodiacal light...
Now I´m also in sewing. We have a sewing machine and I like making what my wife design. It´s challenging and relaxing at the same time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I´m not a music maniac. Depending on the mood I can really enjoy different types of music. I not quite a reader either but I like books about personal stories, like travel experiences, history...
About movies, the ones I enjoy should have an interesting and original screenplay. "Sleuth", "The island", "Tesis"... just to mention a few that have captured my attention.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving in the coral reef of Providencia Island in the Caribean, without any previous scuba diving experience. It was crazy, but amazing.
Also the trip with my wife to Norway, driving on icy roads, walking on a glacier... it was a great experience considering I come from african islands.

I would like to learn recipies from all around the world. Also sharing travel experiences, since it´s another way of travelling for me.
About photography, if you are interested in learning how to get the most out of your camera, I can give you some tips, specially with night photography, which can be more challenging.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tips about how to enjoy Tenerife and Canary Islands. If I have time I like also sharing some time, hiking, going to the beach or visiting a nice place of the island.
