I'm Mauro and I'm 21 years old. I grew up in Switzerland, where I completed a four year apprenticeship at a bank. Thereafter, I travelled for a year while self-studying for university entrance exams. In Summer 2025, I moved to Amsterdam to study psychology, where I live since.

I do bike deliveries on the side. In the future I would like to become a psychology teacher and researcher, or some related job where I can have an impact.

Meeting with people makes travelling much more fun for me. Having stayed with and lived in a handful of families around Europe showed me how much of a better perspective you get on top of the sightseeing.

I was active in the European Youth Parliament, and attended several international forums and competitions (International Swiss Talent Forum, International Ecomomics Olympiad). There, I made a lot of friends from around the world, and fell in love with being in an international environment. I think that's what made me come to Amsterdam for my studies, and what keeps me seeking the thrill of travelling and meeting new people from all over the globe.

Therefore, a major reason why I'm on Couchsurfing is that I want to meet people! And let's face it: I'm short on cash, too.

I'm looking forward to casual encounters. If you generously allow me to couchsurf at your place, I won't take all of your time away - but I am open to spending an evening or two together if you are in for that!

Música, películas y libros

I listen to pretty much every genre across different languages. I'm not very knowledgeable about the technicalities of music, but I'm very into it for the 'feeling'. I see music as an expression of culture, so I try to listen broadly.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Respecting your personality, and your space, and your rules is important to Tery and me. We leave your space at minimum as clean as we found it. We are home before 8 pm if not otherwise specified, and we will certainly not wake you up in the morning.

I've lived in different families before (Switzerland, Ireland, Cyprus), and briefly stayed with people and families in another 8 countries. All of these were amazing experiences!
