Hi, mi name is Mauro and I´m an artist from a city called Mar del Plata in Argentina. It's a lovely city on the coast where I grew up and spent my childhood. All my family lives there.
I moved to Buenos Aires when I finished school to study Cinema and stayed here I for 15 years now.
I work as a freelance Cinematographer in Feature Films and Advertising. I work in the camera department. I love my job, actually. Like to work and like to travel also.
I drink a lot of mate, and also enjoy drinking it while seating in a park.
I like to spend my time taking photos, writing my soon to come book, working on my music, and studying everything that I'm interested in.
I love to cook, and love trying new recipes. Ethnic food is my favourite. though it's very difficult to get it correctly.

Really, really enjoy knowing different cultures, and learning about there art. Mostly, live music indeed. When I get to a new place I try to get to know the local artists.

I enjoy deep conversation, not really easy to talk about ourselves, right? I´m easy going and always ready for a great laugh. Like to list to music and walk for hours, alone or not.

I hear from rock, folk up to tango and folklore. My favourite bands are The Beatles, Radiohead, The Smiths, The Magnetic Fields, Jorge Drexler, Juan Quintero, Sylvan Esso, Black Eyed Peas and so on.
Love to here them on a warm day walking and travelling to places.

In Buenos Aires, I ride my bike everywhere. I take long journeys that get me to differente and beautiful places. And when the distance is too long, I go by car to different partes of the country. On summer I usually go hiking and taking mountain trips, and in winter I look for warm places to stay inside in the countryside.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet local persons on my trips because I feel that is the better way to know from their culture, to know how they live, what´s important for them. Like everyone in this universe, right. Getting to know each other, we realize even more that we all live in the same planet and that our problems, our daily life problems, maybe they are not so important. It´s important to enjoy this journey. And to be connected.
I think that if we know each other, we build a kind of web that keeps us bonding and wishing the best to each one another.

Music, Movies, and Books

Every piece of art that is sincere and sensitive. As you imagine, I watch a lot of movies. So telling a favourite one is really difficult. I like from comedies to drama, going from the Dardenne Brothers to the movie Hangover, you know.
I really like reading too. Always fiction. Love argentinian fiction, and of course the big writers such as Raymond Carver, Sallinger, Baudelaire.
