About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living the dream as best I can

ABOUT ME

Grew up near Chicago and learned how to abuse airline employee benefits at an early age.
Jumped a plane to Tokyo with a forged ticket when I was 17 with nothing but a toothbrush and a sketchbook.
Took my game international in 2005 working in Switzerland, Malaysia, U.A.E., and the Yemen.
Love travel, die hard backpacker, out there trying to live the dream.

PHILOSOPHY

Not afraid to live, not afraid to die.
But would highly prefer to avoid the later.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have an exceptionally large debt to wonderful friends around the world who have hosted me over the last decade: it's about time to recharge the karma.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

LA and So-Cal. New York (Queens), Tokyo (Saitama), Hiroshima, Sapporo, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, the beach towns of Cambodia and Thailand, and I totally have couch-citizenship in Dubai/Abu Dhabi by now. A few Euro-trips and a hitch in Switzerland as part of IAESTE - 'job surfers'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cave diving ("spelunking"?) in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
Unless I get to do this thing where you sky dive in a car out the back of a Russian cargo plane... jk

Teach, Learn, Share

Random skills I have been into over the years:
Origami.
Calligraphy in Japanese, Arabic, and English.
Drawing.
Writing, quite poorly.

Skills I am envious of and want to learn in the future:
Salsa and other Dances.
Writing, skillfully.
Cooking with a focus on South East Asia.
