COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2007, althougn not as a member of this site, a friend of mine and I went to Victoria for a weekend and although we got a hotel the first night, the 2nd night we befriended some women in Victoria, cancelled our hotel, and stayed with them instead. A few months later, while at the Victoria Wharf, I met a 62 year old woman who invited me into her apartment for tea and crumpets within 5 minutes of talking to me and adopted me as her Victoria son. She made me this incredible organic egg salad sandwich, and took me into her home as if I was family, tucked me in, and even gave me some special chocolate before I left! The next time I was there, I brought a girl and she made us a roast and a 5 course dinner! I have a place to stay whenever I'm in Victoria and she has a place to stay if she's in Vancouver. I call her my Auntie Babs! Best Auntie ever!
