Overview
About Me
Hey,
I'm Max, thirty years old and born and raised in Leipzig. If I haven't been travelling around Europe and further, I have been in Leipzig most of the time. The place I call home, is a quite unique flat within the alternative city part of Leipzig, I have been living here for ages and since the last 7 years with my Dog called Alma. She isn't here all the time, since I'm sharing her with a friend.
Recently, I had a chat with a friend, who used to use CouchSurfing quite a lot, and that brought me to the decision to re-activate my account and get to meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I truly enjoy the idea of connecting with people across cultures. For me, travel is less about ticking off sights and more about sharing everyday life, conversations, and experiences with others. Couchsurfing creates the chance to meet people you’d probably never cross paths with otherwise, and I love that sense of exchange and community.
As a host:
I’d be happy to show you some unique and interesting corners of Leipzig. Around my district there’s usually something going on — concerts, exhibitions, or other nice events — and I often keep track of what’s happening. My flat is big enough that you can have your room, which I think is especially valuable when you’ve been on the road for a while and just need some space to recharge.
As a guest:
I’m an easy-going person who loves to learn about new languages, cultures, and ways of living. Music is a big part of my life, so I’m always curious about the local scene wherever I go — whether it’s live shows, small bars, or just talking about what people listen to. I truly enjoy sharing stories, cooking together, or just sitting down with a drink and having a good conversation.
Interests
I enjoy reading a lot, and music is a big part of my life — I’m open to all kinds, no matter the genre. I’m also fascinated by languages because they reflect the cultural background they come from. There are always words that can’t be translated directly into another language, and for me, those untranslatable expressions are what make each language unique.
Traveling is another important interest of mine. I especially love Turkey — its mix of cultures, landscapes, and music inspires me every time. I’ve also done a lot of hitchhiking, which I enjoy not only as a way of getting around, but also as a way of meeting people and hearing unexpected stories. And whenever I can, I like to go hiking — being out in nature, walking through mountains or forests, is one of the best ways to clear my head and recharge.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve had so many unforgettable moments while traveling that it’s challenging to choose just a few. Hiking up to 4,000 meters was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever done, and trekking through the jungle in Vietnam showed me an entirely different side of nature. I love discovering new flavors, so trying food from all over the world has been a trip in itself — every dish tells a story. And hitchhiking around Europe gave me the chance to meet incredible people, share rides, and hear stories I never would have encountered otherwise.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to learn new languages because for me every language opens a new window into understanding people and their culture. In return, I’d be happy to share my knowledge of German with anyone who is interested. I also enjoy exchanging music and stories about traveling — these conversations often lead to discovering new perspectives and hidden gems.
Another thing I like to share is my knowledge of Leipzig. It’s a city full of history, creativity, and vibrant cultural life, and I enjoy showing others a side of it that you don’t always find in guidebooks.
