Hi, My name is Max Mavec and I am a recent college graduate. I earned my degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois and am currently trying to decide what I want to do with my life. In an attempt to learn about myself I will be Traveling across the United States with my best friend Linda. We are both hoping that learning more about the country we live in will help us to figure out who we are as people and what we want to do with our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfer so I can find a new place that I would like to move to. Having recently graduated College, I am planning a road trip across the United States, stopping in places that I may want to move to. I am looking to experience what the areas are really like and learn about the people who live in those areas.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- EDM, Reggee, Ska, Punk, Rock, Classic Rock, Gorillaz, Jam bands, monster cat. I am also hoping to be exposed to other types of music that I don't normally listen to.

Movies-Snowpiercer, Lord of the rings, Star Wars, Cheech and chong, Monty Python, James Bond, quentin tarantino movies. I have never been a big movie person, but I like to be exposed to other peoples interests.

Books- House of the Scorpion, Battle Royal, Ender's game. I haven't had much time to read in the last couple of years, but now that I am graduated I am trying to read more. Always taking suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done was travel to my families country of origin; Slovenia. This trip was very special to be because growing up I heard many stories about what life was like for my grandparents growing up during World War Two. Getting to see the areas my grandparents grew up and locations that have strong family history with my entire family was something I will never be able to forget and I feel that it shaped me as a person.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- Cooking. I love to cook and getting to share that love with new people brings joy to my life.

Learn- I am always open to learning new things. If you have something that you are passionate about I would love to share that with you.

Share-Anything, if you are kind enough to share your house with me I will be more then happy to share whatever I can with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share my love for cooking. If this means cooking meals for you or sharing the cooking experience, as long as I am somehow sharing the love of cooking I am happy. I would also be willing to clean and help with general maintenance stuff, having worked in maintenance for a few years in college I would be more then help in any way possible.
