ABOUT ME

I'm half American, half French, have lived in London, so I'm used to moving around and experiencing new places and people. I am a pretty low-maintenance guy and I like to do all sorts of things.

PHILOSOPHY

In my life, I hope that I can be a source of joy to the people around me and do even just a little to make their lives better. I like to understand and re-learn what I have experienced through the perspectives of others so that I can be a better person.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to surf or host a couch but I am excited by the idea! I have been attending several couchsrufing events like the language tandem event and the späti crawl, so I have gotten to know a few people who are or have passed through Berlin.

Interests

I like to walk around a city and get to know it better. Music fuels my soul (mostly the electronic kind) and I enjoy djing and producing music too. I like to talk about anything for extended periods of time, especially things that other people are passionate about. I like going out clubbing and dancing all night but I also like hiking up mountains and meandering in botanical gardens while eating ice cream or drinking a beer. I'm also passionate about architecture and its impact on the environment, as it is the field I studied in college.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music, but I must say that I am particularly moved by the quirky and soulful sides of electronic music. Some songs that come to mind are Ya Blessin Me by Moodymann, Sing by Four Tet, First Time Around by Skyy, and many more.

In terms of movies, I have seen many, which makes it so hard to pick favorites! Some that definitely had a profound impact on me have been A Single Man, Mr. Nobody, Feng Shui (the 2012 one), Fill the Void, M (by Fritz Lang). I also like the Firefly series...

Books I have enjoyed in the past are Neuromancer (and the other two books Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive) by William Gibson, Snow Crash and Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson, Tobie Lolness by Timothee de Fombelle, Die Stadt der Träumenden Bücher by Walter Moers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the ice caves under the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. They are surreal!
Going through the fjords in Norway (near Bergen) was also stellar.
