Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like so many, I have a natural taste for adventure and have always harbored an interest in seeing as much of the world as possible.

I think it's really amazing how supportive people are willing to be, and I'm hoping to share that good energy, see some amazing places, and meet some incredible new people.

Interests

I am really interested in performance and literature. I spend a lot of time reading and writing, and frequently look for opportunities to perform in plays and independent films.

I also deeply enjoy physical activity, such as bike riding, jogging, and yoga. I used to be much more hardcore about being active, but I've come to appreciate exercise as a form of relaxation more than a physical challenge.

I am especially passionate about being in the water. There is no place that makes me feel more at peace than being in or close to the ocean. I am hoping to find awesome people on the coasts and shores especially who want to share their beautiful homes with someone like me.

I REALLY want to learn how to surf!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book of all time is 'All the King's Men' by Robert Penn Warren. I love to read, so there's plenty more I could talk about.

I am very passionate about film, and could probably talk forever about all the different movies I like. But, I've tried to develop a list of 5 'favorites' for the sake of conversation and moments like these. They are:

Office Space
There Will Be Blood
Into the Mouth of Madness (a lot of John Carpenter movies could be on this list)
The Life Aquatic
Point Break

Music is yet another topic I could go on about forever. Some of my favorites include Real Estate, David Bowie, Gorillaz, the Doors, Warren Zevon, Kavinsky, and so on. It's safe to say I find merit in almost everything. So, please share your music with me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went on a week-long sailing trip with my German host family along the coast of Croatia. I feel most at peace in or around water, so this journey was a straight-up dream come true!

Plus, my host brother's best friend and I would wake up super early every morning and do some kind of 'extreme' physical activity to start the day. The most memorable was when we put our running shoes in plastic bags, swam to the shore of a pretty much abandoned isle (except for the goats), ran its circumference, and then climbed to the top of its highest hill.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, conversation, washing dishes, and more! I am fortunate in that I can relate to pretty much anyone. So, I have no idea what we will connect on, but I am sure there will be something!
