About Me
I travel everywhere with my best friend: my dog Copper. Most of our travel is camping but we may just be touristing it up with some day treks as well.
I am from southern Massachusetts and went to school in Chicago before joining the Army. I studied math, but don't think I'm all that nerdy--though I'm always game to help with your math homework if you're still in school (don't be the guy bringing me anything above Complex Analysis). If I stay in the Army I'll switch from Infantry to do something more with mathematics or languages, and if I get out I plan to get my PhD in Probability and profess somewhere near the mountains.
Copper Adventure Wiese is from Raeford, NC, she's an Australian Cattle Dog (you may know the breed as Heelers, she's a red heeler), weighs about 30 lbs, and was born on November 11, 2016. Her education includes basic obedience, 2 months at the school of hard knocks during her time in prison (the kennel), field craft basic and advanced, an MS in astrophysics, an MA in Buddhist Studies, and her PsyD. Hobbies are chewing things, drinking dog beer, sitting underneath my chair at bars, chasing and borking at cyclists, hiking, and borking at dark corners when I'm not paying enough attention to her.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd rather get to know a place with people who know the place and like dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Huge fan of almost everything, except country. Duke Ellington is the best composer of all time, Ray Charles is a genius, and Montana of 300 is a guilty pleasure.
Big time Star Wars nerd, big time. That's for movies and books.
Good Will Hunting is my favorite movie, Band of Brothers my favorite mini series. Love Tintin and wish they'd make a sequel.
Favorite book is probably The Curious Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. Loved Star Ship Troopers and Enders Game as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Atop Rungwe peak in absolutely rural Tanzania I had my Nokia burner phone in my pocket which I paid 1 shilling per 10 minutes on. All I could see in all directions was clouds and there was no built up town for miles. My phone rang.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am totally down to make gnocchi with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Humor, cooking skills, my dog's great personality, and my mediocre one. If you host me I'll buy or make dinner for you.
Countries I’ve Visited
Iraq, Kuwait, Tanzania
