Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel I tend to shy away from the tourist traps and try to see the everyday culture of the places I visit. Through CS I've met amazing people in Paris, Georgia, and North Carolina, and have made some true friends that I've hosted here in Montreal .

Interests

I'm studying biology (evolution and ecology of cross-species infectious diseases) and play guitar / like to try out any string instrument I can get my hands on. Currently playing in the band Year of Glad, and composing some instrumental stuff on the side. But deep down I would love to learn some traditional African pieces - I'm quite into D'gary and traditional Malagasy music right now.

I used to be a cook and I still like doing that, but without the stress and second degree burns.
