I'm not sure I have a mission... I'd kinda like to think that I'm on permanent shore leave!

ABOUT ME

I am very laid back, humorous person. I like being active. I love the mountains, which is why live in Colorado, but I am open to spending time in other types of environments/climates. I like to travel, eat food, run, play sports, listen to (all kinds of) music, go out in what ever city I'm in.

PHILOSOPHY

I enjoy life whenever I can. It is more important to be wealthy with time and good friends than with money, so I live my life to reflect that philosophy. I want to leave this earth a better place than when I found it so I work hard to accomplish that goal when I need to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am traveling in S.E. Asia this summer and I'd like to meet locals to get a deeper sense of the communities and cultures in the places I travel to. If possible, I'd love to couch surf whenever possible. I'll totally host you when you come to Denver, Colorado USA!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no experience with this thing yet. I'm hoping some nice person will take a chance on me and let me stay in your home for a day or 2. pretty please?!

Interests

Skiing, Hiking, Running with my dog, Ultimate Frisbee,socializing with friends in a variety of locations. I travel when I get the chance. Oh! and my dog!! I love my dog!! He's the best dog ever.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read children's fiction mostly. Partly because I am an elementary school teacher and partly because I am a bit childish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing Moment #1: In the year following Hurricane Katrina, I was sent down to New Orleans to do disaster recovery with the Americorps service group. While we were down there we were invited to help be a part of the stage crew when U2 and Greenday played a song to commemorate the re-opening of the Louisiana Super dome. When the show happened we were in the front row and it felt like the whole city erupted with joy. It was an awesome feeling to be there knowing that I was part of the rebuilding process of the city.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning opportunities. This might be why I am a teacher. For the purpose of CS, I think I want to learn from people who are culturally/socially and geographically knowledgeable in terms of the place I am visiting.
