ABOUT ME

Right, I've been a bit of a diplobrat for most of my life but not in the bad way. I've been lucky enough to have traveled far and got to really like meeting different people from all sorts of walks of life - its odd how much you have in common and how differently you can think about things.

I really love to travel - its the main reason I bother to work. Since finishing my undergraduate I have: improved my French in Paris; had to abandon a job in Shanghai due to visa restrictions; driven from London to Mongolia for charity; travelled in Indonesia; worked in New Delhi; done an MA in Contemporary Chinese Studies in China; and started a job with Rio Tinto (mining) in Perth.

PHILOSOPHY

I honestly don't think I'm wise enough to venture one of these yet. I would much rather hear everybody's philosophies and combine them all into something that reflects the unpredictability of life...paradoxically, that almost sounds like a philosophy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've dipped into coach-surfing before but am dead-keen to get properly involved this time. I'm currently sharing a flat and my housemate has said that, should coffee/drinks go well, she'd be prepared to let me host a coach-surfer (but largely as a last resort). I have to respect her wishes because we both rent the flat but see it as the best compromise.

I'm new to Perth and so am looking to meet everybody and anybody whenever although I do work 9 - 5.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love staying with different strangers - I believe that only by living with someone who knows the culture intimately can you even begin to understand how that country works.
