Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Max – a curious, warm-hearted soul from Germany, currently living in Taiwan. I'm a software engineer focused on AI automations, and a lifelong learner passionate about personal growth, cultures, and meaningful conversations.
After hitchhiking and couchsurfing through Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, and exploring Thailand, Laos, and the Himalayas, I've found a bit of a home base here in Taiwan. I’m learning Chinese, building an online brand around learning and meta-skills, and enjoying life with my wonderful Taiwanese girlfriend.
Philosophically, I draw a lot from Buddhism, Stoicism, and the ups and downs of life itself. I value honesty, openness, and warmth—and I try to bring that energy into every encounter. I have a passion for personal development. For a while, I explored being on the asexual spectrum, panromantic, and polyamorous 🏳️🌈 —nowadays, I just try to stay connected, honest, and grateful for the relationships I have.
Our Hosting Setup
Together with my roommate Yao Liu, I co-host Couchsurfers in our apartment near Kaohsiung International Airport (don’t worry, it’s quiet!). We both work during the week, so we may not have tons of time during the day—but we love sharing chill evenings, stories, and weekend adventures when time allows.
We have a cozy guest room with a large mattress (great for couples), and sometimes an extra setup in the living room if needed. It’s a perfect place to rest, explore Kaohsiung on your own, or slow down for a few days.
Booking Tip
For stays across multiple days, please send the request for the first part of your stay to Yao Liu’s profile (link below), and the last day to this one.
Looking forward to meeting kind, curious, and respectful travelers—see you on the road 🌏
