About Me

Hello everybody!!!
I am a 24 year old german student. By being born in the middle of the german countryside and studying in Aachen (near Cologne), I know both, living between cows and sheep and living in a city :). In spring of 2015 i finished my Bachelors degree and started to travel around for a few months and really really enjoyed it. I first tried couchsurfing and had only very good experiences, but changed eventually to hostels. After having a good time in quite a few places i returned to my studies in Germany.
I grew up with an older brother (7 years older) and many, many dogs. My parents used to breed Irish Setter and we used to have 3-4 dogs most of the time of my childhood. Meanwhile, the only one left, is my own dog Ron (he is in my pictures).
I guess I am pretty connective and open. But that even muliplied after my time travelling in hostels. I like to get to know new people I can hang out with. There isn't much that upsets me with people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing, because I hope it's the best way to really experience the culture you are visiting. Besides that, a person that offers a stranger to sleep in his flat is by definition an interesting and open person, who has most likely some nice stories to tell ;).
So hanging out with my host, talking, discussing, cooking and drinking with my host is the main intention. I know that it might be a disadvantage, that i didn't host someone by myself yet. But the city i am living in is not really touristy or a popular destination for travelers =D. But if somebody needs a couch to crash, i would be happy to return the favors other people have done me before.

Interests

I used to play football since i was 3 years old. This way, I got to know most of my friends I still have today. It was always very important to me as my main physical training and recovery from daily stress. Unfortunatly, I suffered a knee injuriy a few years ago, which won´t allow me to play football on a regular basis anymore. I replaced that sport with swimming and occasional practice at home.
A further important interest of mine is music. Both listening and making. I'm a huge fan of the Rock classics and I therefore started to play guitar a few years ago. This became a huge hobby for me. In Madrid i added an Ukulele to my collection, after i tried playing it on a rooftop bar with the owner.
Of cource I enjoy a good movie or TV series every now and then.
I also love to go out with friends! I could do it every evening. I don't care if it's only watching a movie or enjoying a few (or more) beers in a bar ;). Every evening in company is a good evening!!!!
As a thing to get me out of my comfort zone, i started to hitchhike every now and then. Did it in Turkey, Israel and Germany so far. Still dont have much experience, but it worked out quite good so far!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

As I mentioned, my favority music is good old Rock! From The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, ZZ Top and Jimi Hendrix to the Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age and The Black Keys.
Most recently i got a bit into electronic stuff too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Great Wall of China.

Raised a dog: Nobody loves you as much as your dog actually. Raising a puppy to be a well behaved companion is challenging, but i think it can influence your personality. Caring for something that totally depends on you, teaches you compassion, patience and how to take responsibility for something.

Learned how to handle a guitar.

Teach, Learn, Share

One little goal i set myself, is to learn how to greet people and to introduce myself in as much languages as possible. I think if you meet somebody foreign and you greet them in their native laguage, it always brings a smile in their face and thats a great way to establish a positive relation to somebody. As a german, my native language isnt a very common language to learn and it always makes me smile when somebody knows a few german words for example :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess I'm am a pretty easy type of person. I'm hardly offended, hardly mad, hardly to shock and blessed with a good amount of tolerance and patience for all kinds of stuff. So if you like to live in a huge mess, I'm okay with that. But that doesn't mean I'm untidy or something like that. I will always happily adapt to your wishes and your way of living :).
Generally, I am not couchsurfing just to sleep for free. I always love to have some interaction with my host. Could be cooking, going out, watching movies, discussing etc... Its the best way to make new friends and to have the best possible time with each other. Thats probably the best part of couchsurfing in my opinion.

P.S.: I would verify my account, but I don't have a credit card :( If you doubt my identity, I will somehow proof it :).
