I’m Max, 22, Austrian. I‘m currently studying abroad in Brisbane, Australia, and finishing my degree in Finance here.

When there’s no university, I love to travel. My last trip (apart from Australia) was to Colombia in July 2024!

I do enjoy parties occasionally, but I also like board games and just talking. I love learning about new cultures, as it just helps me understand that we all have different environments that we need to adapt to and live in. I think that‘s beautiful and we can learn from each other’s experiences.

Unfortunately I live in a student dorm and can‘t host right now, but I‘m always down to hangout and show you the city. Just text me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started with a friend who wanted to do couchsurfing in Israel and Jordan (right before the war). I didn’t have an account at that time, but getting to know what the life is really like in a country was amazing. You can only really understand the people of your travel destination if you really interact with them and what better way to do that than with CS :)

Music, Movies, and Books

The lyrics are very important to me when listening to music. When I‘m alone I mostly listen to rock, but I also enjoy other music when it‘s played.

Favorite book: I recently started reading the Dune series and it got me hooked. I also like watching animes and mangas. Generally, good stories always affect me emotionally and leave me crying a bit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving - the free fall is the best experience ever
Hiking up to 5000m in Nepal
Played volleyball with locals of a small Nepali village
Saw some whales in jumping 10m away from me in Colombia
Slept in the desert (Wadi Rum) at probably 5 degrees with ONLY ONE blanket

I‘m very into fitness and photography. If you want to know anything about those two topics, I‘m sure I could teach you something. And if you have some musical or handicraft skills that you could share with me, that‘d be the greatest thing ever!!
