About Me
Hi there! I’m Max. An educator, designer, and lifelong learner passionate about creativity, technology, and human connection. I currently live in Canada, where I teach and lead programs in immersive technologies (VR/AR), design innovation, and storytelling. My background is quite international. I’ve lived and worked across Europe, Asia, and North America, collaborating with artists, educators, and innovators from all walks of life.
I love bringing people together to share ideas, stories, and laughter... whether it’s over coffee, cooking a meal, or exploring a new city on foot. When I travel, I’m less interested in tourist checklists and more drawn to local culture, conversations, and small, meaningful experiences that reveal what life is really like in a place.
I’m also doing a PhD in Design and Innovation, exploring how immersive storytelling (VR/AR) can foster empathy and intercultural understanding. So if you’re curious about how technology and creativity intersect — or just want to talk about art, psychology, or the future, we’ll have plenty to discuss!
Outside of work, I’m into good food, architecture, creative projects, mindfulness, and spontaneous adventures. I’m easygoing, clean, respectful, and always happy to lend a hand or share a story.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I believe the best part of travel is people, not places. My most meaningful memories always come from conversations shared over a meal, an unexpected walk, or a story told at the right time.
As someone who’s lived in several countries and works at the intersection of education, design, and culture, I’m constantly inspired by how differently people think, create, and connect. Couchsurfing feels like an extension of that — a way to learn from others, exchange perspectives, and share simple moments of kindness that make travel more human.
I also see it as a way to give back — to open my home (and mind) to travelers who, like me, are curious about the world, respectful of others, and eager to explore beyond the surface.
In short: I’m here to connect, learn, and help make someone’s journey a little more memorable — and hopefully, to collect a few new stories and friendships along the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a postgraduate program in Virtual and Augmented Reality from the ground up — bringing together educators, designers, and technologists to teach the future of immersive storytelling. Seeing students step into worlds they created themselves was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I love helping people explore creativity, storytelling, and emerging technologies — especially how tools like VR and AI can expand the way we learn and connect.
Learn: I’m endlessly curious about different cultures, philosophies, and ways of seeing the world. I learn best through deep conversations and shared experiences.
Share: Good food, good stories, and good company. I enjoy exchanging ideas, laughter, and moments that remind us we’re all connected in small but meaningful ways.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always bring respect for the space, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in learning about my host’s world.
