ABOUT ME

I'm an easygoing Boulder Colorado native and UPenn graduate looking to travel a bit in my spare time. I am currently working three part time teaching jobs -- k12 math, driver's ed, and literacy tutoring (the third one is a project I started called Crypto-Knights -- here's the website if you're interested: http://cryptoknightcomics.com/). I enjoy meditating, cooking, gardening, home-brewing, art, long walks on the beach (or in the mountains, or the city, or whatever ya got!), and playing guitar in campfire singalongs and/or rock n' roll bands.

PHILOSOPHY

Being human is about being open -- to each other, to ourselves, to our experiences, both positive and negative, to the world. I try to look at things and situations in terms of how they can help me grow and become myself in a more authentic way, and try to appreciate them as much as possible along the way. And when in doubt, leap, err boldly, and don't be afraid to get your hands dirty.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to get to know people around the world who are interested in sharing stories and living space in exchange for new experiences and making new friends. I am more than happy to cook lovely stirfries and other dishes, and strum your favorite folk-songs in exchange for housing and camaraderie.

Also, I live with four awesome housemates (three guys and two girls total) in a decent-sized, bright, warm, vegan-friendly, bike-riding, 'smore-roastin', camping, singing, dancing house about fifteen minutes from Downtown Denver -- we've hosted several couch-surfers in the past and definitely hope to invite many, many more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted quite a few people of all kinds, and relied on the kindness of strangers for shelter quite a few times -- almost always memorable and enjoyable experiences. My debut was one rainy night in Philadelphia many years ago when me and a stranger about my age both missed our plane flight to Denver (him going, me returning). He was a Philly native, so we jumped in his truck and went to an awesome art-gallery opening, a few bars, a deep-pan pizza place, and had our horiscopes read by a friend of his at around 2am. I crashed on his couch and we both caught a flight that morning, and have kept in touch ever since. Ever since then this has been my ideal travel style.

Cooking, music, singing, playing guitar, harmonica, mandolin, dancing, talking endlessly about things people are passionate about, comic books, gardening, biking, learning languages, hiking, art, meditating, Dharma... well, what am I not interested in?
