Hi I'm May, like the month. I am Egyptian, Syrian, Iraqi, and American. I speak English, Arabic, and Spanish. I like to write and read a lot. I love art and fashion. I'm passionate about traveling and cultures. I believe that this world is a book, and every page is a country; every culture a chapter. I find new things in old things and old things in new things. Sometimes life gets old, other times its interesting. But one thing I know for sure is that we have the power to make it different. I like to analyze things, expect things, and observe people. I like to make up stories about why people are the way they are, sometimes they're true, other times they're not. I'm good at reading people, I don't know why, or how I do it, maybe its luck, but I always get their stories right. I'm not a bad liar, but i am also not a good one. I don't believe in black and white, I like to be on the grey shade. I am not an extremist. I think everyone should have their morals, values, perspectives and limits, and I think these things are defined depending on how we're raised or how we come to learn things or experience things. Difference isn't bad, and being different is great, but without our morals, values, and perspectives we are nothing. The truth is we're all the same even though very different. I like to remind myself of who I am and what I believe in, because in my opinion when we forget our perspectives or have no perspectives on the complexity of life we lose our self-respect. I'm definitely living, not surviving, but I can't deny that there are many ugly truths about life, and I happen to have a list of them, but flip that list around and you find all the pretty things. I am a creative advertising major. I love what I do, but creativity scares me, and if you haven't already noticed I'm a master of contradictions, but I guess that's a good thing because according to many that is the key to creativity.

I'm on CouchSurfing because I've always wanted to see the whole world, and I try every vacation, but I've realized this could be a lot cheaper than any other option.

I don't have a specific favorite genre of music, but right now i've been listening to a lot of upbeat spanish songs.

Movies: I have a lot, maybe Interstellar, Troy, Gladiator, Tristan and Isolde, Lord of the Rings, Limitless, Twilight, can't think of anything else right now.

Books: Love Romantic and Fictional books. Their authors make everything perfect and are the opposite of real life.

I've jumped off a bridge into the Mediterranean before, got lost in a desert in Egypt and in Barcelona both around the time i was 9-10. I wore heels from 7 pm to 7 am once last summer and danced all night.

I'm a down-to-earth person, I like to try new things and have a good time. I love different languages and different places and people. I think life is so big and we're so small and that I have to see the world and meet all types of people to become a part of it. I am a culture relativist. I believe in a lot of things that may or may not make sense. I like to think I am a fun person. I'm not messy and I'm not too tidy. I'm very close to my family and think family always comes first. I'm a firm believer in emotions being a state of mind and in making things happen.
