About Me

Thai people normally have an official name, a family name and a nickname. To simply call & remember ME, you guys can call me, MAY.

I grew up and living in Bangkok since I was born. Regularly working in the office, and a few years ago, used to have a part time job as a tour guide on weekends.

I love traveling, especially in Thailand, and just learn that there are a lot of places I have never been yet.

Unfortunately, I am afraid of the height so there are things I avoid to do when I travel. I love to go snorkeling even though I cannot swim.

I am interested in history, tradition, culture and etc. It might be the things I can share rationally.

I am not good at cooking but I love eating, especially Thai food. I am not sure if I just get used to it so I do like it, or if Thai food is the best one.

Besides, I love dancing a lot --- if having a chance, let's dance :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

…Why am I still here?

About five years ago, I discovered this community, and back then it felt incredibly warm and welcoming. I couldn’t host because it wasn’t comfortable for my parents, but I tried to give back in the ways I could — organizing free tours, sharing the history, culture, and traditions of my country. I genuinely loved doing that.

Having a host while traveling abroad would definitely be helpful, but the truth is, I usually prefer staying on my own.

Time has passed, things have changed, and so have I. But even now, I still want to create events and activities that might interest CS travelers. It feels good to give something meaningful to the community, in my own way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maybe dancing salsa?

Salsa is a beautiful dance, but its movements feel so different from my own culture. In Thailand, our traditional dances have a completely different rhythm and body language — graceful, gentle, and precise in a way that contrasts with the dynamic, bold energy of salsa.
