Hi there!

My name is Mayra, and I’ve been part of CS since 2007—that’s when I took my first Interrail trip!

I haven’t had the chance to host yet, but I’ve met amazing travelers along the way and shared great moments while exploring the city.

At the moment, I can’t host since I share an apartment with friends, but I’d love to show you around or give you some great tips on where to go. Believe me, Porto is an incredible place to wander!

Right now, I’m taking a technical course in Graphic Design, which I see as a potential career path. I’m a creative and social person, and I absolutely love photography!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discovered this amazing community during my first Interrail trip back in 2007, and I instantly fell in love with the idea. The chance to connect with people from all over the world, share stories, and experience different cultures is what makes traveling truly special for me. I believe that the best adventures come from the people we meet along the way, and this community is the perfect way to make those connections happen!

My interests are a mix of things, but if I had to describe them, I’d say they lean towards the hipster side—plants and flowers, photography, and all things creative. That said, I’m pretty open-minded and love exploring different interests, so I can easily dive into all kinds of conversations. My taste is quite broad, and I enjoy discovering new things along the way! 😄

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My life has been an adventure since my early 20s—traveling, backpacking, joining exchange programs, and trying new things like skiing and surfing. One of the most unforgettable experiences was paragliding over Rio de Janeiro, feeling completely free above that breathtaking landscape. I also spent a summer living in a campsite on Ilha Grande and eventually made the big move to Portugal. So many stories, so many incredible moments—always chasing the next adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

I’d love to learn how to surf, for example, or cruise around effortlessly on inline skates. There’s always something new to try, and I’m all about embracing the challenge and having fun along the way! 😃
