My name is Maya, and like most people on Couchsurfing, I really enjoy traveling and meeting new people. I am from the US but am currently living and working in Germany. I love the outdoors and exploring new places, as well as trying new foods and experiences.

I have had really great experiences in the few times I have couchsurfed in the past, so I decided it was time to get my own profile :) I think couchsurfing is a more authentic way to explore, and gives you the opportunity to meet locals in a new city. I look forward to having more great experiences and to meeting you!

Traveling is definitely a big passion of mine; 18 countries down, 178 to go! I have traveled quite a bit in the US and Europe, and I have spent time in South Africa and India as well.
Outside of traveling, I enjoy pretty much all outdoor activities, especially horseback riding, hiking, swimming, biking, and playing tennis. Indoorsy activities include reading, sketching, eating, and going dancing!

I am a huge Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones fan in books and movies. I also enjoy Girls, the New Girl, and Outlander. As far as music, I like indie and house, but I always love to hear new music and explore new genres!
