ABOUT ME

I'm ecclectic! I entered college as an English major with a Writing minor. Halfway through, I switched to Social Work (and kept the Writing minor). I graduated with a BSW, and I'm going to pursue a Master's Degree in Communication Arts in New York (looking to either something with film, computer graphics, or TV writing). I play the piano and clarinet, and I've been teaching myself the guitar since Christmas '08. I write poetry, have about a page of a novel completed, enjoy charcoals or ink as mediums for art, am determined to learn French and Italian and to better my skills in Spanish and ASL, enjoy video games (virtually any console, except Nintendo '64), laugh too hard at Family Guy, and .. am ecclectic! I also enjoy debating politics (I'm a liberal Democrat), as well as philosophy and religion. I'm also independently studying Buddhism and Zen after an odd moment of enlightenment and inner encouragement to live a better, more peaceful life.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life in the hopes that if every person did just ONE good thing in the world, then the dullness and the darkness would be illuminated, one, tiny star at a time.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to virtually ANYTHING except for most Country Music and Techno/House. I like most movies, but my favorites are the thought-provoking kind; most recently, I've been into the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I also enjoy comedies and foreign flicks. As for books, they're along the same lines as the movies. Currently, I'm reading "Proust Was a Neuroscientist."

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share .. How to cook, how to play the piano, really bad ways of playing the guitar because I'm still learning, some amazing poets and pieces of literature, and great tools for procrastination. I'd like to learn all there is to learn; throw whatever you've got at me! (Well, not literally)
