Trying to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately work has been getting in the way of late...
Love travel, not for the buildings and paintings but for the people. No matter how great a country or city, if the people are average, then so is the place.
It has been an amazing experience so far, many many places still to get to, and hope this will continue:-)
Fortunately I get to travel a bit for work, but unfortunately (as it is work) these travels don't enable me to meet many people (outside of work colleagues) on the road.
I love being a host to fun people who are considerate of others, and don't just see the 'couch' as way of traveling on the cheap.
I am still remember those days when I was new to town, and realize the importance of meeting up with the locals.
this is way too deep....for later...perhaps I will tell you over a drink.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can provide a couch to anyone. When i am in the country and not traveling myself.
Hosting only at this stage. Its been good way of connecting with people traveling through.
Travel (who isn't?) and people. I do have a passion in human behavior. Especially in relation to one's interaction with others.
I am a firm believer of this. If you perceived someone to be boring, interesting, full of energy etc this is also then a reflection of you, who was interacting with that individual.
So in essence, no one is really boring, or interesting etc, I don't think. Because this 'could' also depend on who they are interacting with.
Similar to how well an artist goes on a show. If they have a fantastic audience to work with the performance is always better. Similarly I think we all feed off others, when we engage with them.
I love the interactions people have with others and why, how and what they do to engage with others.
When I am on the road, and especially when in and around people who do not have much in the form of material possessions I love how simple lives they lead. How content they are with life. A truly remarkable and challenging goal to get to one day.
Music, Movies, and Books
Love Reggae and it has a calming influence. And anything else that puts people in a good mood.
A few of the best movies I have see. Eat Drink Man Woman, The Cube, Snatch, Lockstok and Two Smoking Barrels, Schindler's List, Ghandi and Up!
As for books, I am not much of a reader of fiction. But i loved 'The Andromeda Strain, Sophie's Life and love anything written by Patricia Cornwell.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
trying to see the beauty in most things, we take for granted as we get older. Not sure what i mean? next time you are next to a child, see how much they seem to see what we sadly dont anymore...
Teach, Learn, Share
I love this saying: when you pray, move your feet
A lot of people have asked me what this is all about. No it has nothing to d with dancing :-)
It is to do with;
The 'praying' many of us do but without the gestures of actually helping those in need, whatever form that may take.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Whatever food I have in the house to whatever time, energy, enthusiasm for good conversation ...perhaps over a glass of wine.
