About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Attempt to make a small world out of the seemingly enormous I find myself in.
ABOUT ME
Hi all!
I'm just another student out there lookin' for some good company, a few tips, good conversation, and good hospitality! I love learning about new cultures, languages, people, music, films, books, and new destinations =) I've surfed a couple of times in Europe and it has been great, and I've hosted a few back in Santa Barbara and had solely wonderful experiences with amazing people :)
PHILOSOPHY
Not a huge philosophy buff, but my time abroad in France has changed my life in many ways. I have realized how much there is to see out there, how many people are there to help you along the way, and to seize every opportunity. Open your eyes to as much as you can, because it's a short life and an enormous world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think it's a great way for people all over the world to meet and learn from each other. I try to be as open minded and respectful as possible, either when I'm surfing or hosting!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done couchsurfing a couple times in Europe and it was just an amazing time, and I've done a fair share in California when visiting friends in other universities. So I know how to be polite and respectful in someone else's home, work, and schedule. Therefore I expect people to respect mine if I host you.
Interests
I love to travel (obviously), meet people from other cultures, learn new languages, discover new music/film, learn about history, exchange thoughts on politics, and have a good laugh :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Listing everything would take forever, so I'll throw out some genres.
Music: Indie, rock, hip-hop, jazz, classical, electronic, French/foreign, just about anything really!
Movies: L'auberge espagnol, the Princess Bride (ya ya laugh it up), Shawshank Redemption, the Sandlot, Paris, American Beauty, Stand by Me... god there's too many to list, but I'm a huge fan of film.
Books: Watchmen, My Friend Leonard, Open Season, Manchild in the Promised Land, Kite Runner, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Old Man and the Sea, anything S.E. Hinton, A Farewell to Arms, Robert Louis Stevenson, Paul Eagleman, Chuck Palahniuk
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For me, (and maybe it isn't the most amazing thing for a lot of you) it's learning a new language as a young adult and living in a country/culture I had never known before for a year. It's amazing how much a simple yet important experience in your life has completely altered my perspective on so many things. Oh, and I went to South Africa for the WORLD CUP last summer, which is pretty awesome :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I could share a lot about my experience of being an American living in a French city. The expectations I received from the culture, the transition to adaption, and mustering the courage to jump into a new and foreign life. I still have a lot to learn, including making the leap from the student world to real life...
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom
