I like life a lot, and traveling. I like reading and writing, swing dancing, rock climbing, skiing, sailing, camping, hiking, being outdoors and learning new things. I'm very willing to try just about anything, and look for the beautiful and exciting in everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't started yet! But hopefully one of these days I'll have a couch available, and I'll be traveling sometime in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any couchsurfing experiences yet since I just joined up. I'm planning several trips in the near future, and hopefully I'll also soon have a couch available for others.

Interests

rocks! for climbing! and really gorgeous scenery. and people, especially characters. Music, playing it and breathing it and listening to it. Skiing, sailing, dancing, art and books!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost everything, but some personal favorites (books) are:
Shantaram, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Alchemist, The Golden Compass, Atlas Shrugged, To Kill a Mockingbird, Watership Down, and all books by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaimon, Bill Bryson, Orson Scott Card, and Bill Waterson.

I'll listen to almost any music, and there would be too many favorite artists to list, so I'll stick to genres: Alternative, Ska, jazz, indie, rock, and a smattering of completely un-catagorizable groups.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This summer I rock climbed High Exposure in the Gunks in New York, which was absolutely amazing. It was the most terrifying and exhilerating experience, and I can't wait to do more outdoor climbing.
I've also sailed from Florida to the Bahamas, and gone bareback riding through vinyards in France.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak French and English, so I could teach those. Also I have taught swimming, sailing, tae-kwon-do, and could teach basic rock climbing.
I would love to learn any new languages, any martial art, and any wilderness or survival skills. Actually anything goes, I love learning about everything, especially people.
