CURRENT MISSION

Clocking the hours at my studies during the week and traveling as much as I can afford in the short year I have here in Europe. Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime international student experience, gotta live it up!

ABOUT ME

I am an exchange student from San Francisco, CA here in holland to study and travel around Europe every chance I get! Basically, I am a fun loving girl that wants to see the world; Take me anywhere and I will find beauty in it! I never really had a chance to see anything but my small beach town in SD county growing up, so now that I have taken that bold first step out the door to move to the new big city of San Francisco to go to college, I have become an independent student with many goals, motivated to walk around this entire world with a smile, soaking up every beautiful experience that presents itself with open arms!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Recently joined and have had only amazing experiences! I love the concept and have told all my international friends about the opportunity it presents to us as international students! CS provides such a great community of open-minded people!

兴趣

My interests include EVERYTHING! My mom always told me growing up, "Melissa, you never know until you try!" so from trying new foods to trips to new cities I am open to try everything at least once!
I love hearing travel stories, eating new foods, seeing new places, meeting new people. I find it fascinating that everyone on this earth has their own story and their own view on life, and I love to learn about it and learn about myself through seeing things from a new perspective.
Things I enjoy most hold a wide spectrum from sitting in a beautiful park or on the beach in the relaxing sun all day to doing a rigorous, physically challenging or testing activity like hiking all day through a canyon or next to a waterfall, having the beautiful surroundings or the idea of getting to the top holding you on to keep going!
I enjoy having a local show me around their town/city their way, and hearing the history certain bars, parks or even street corners hold for them.
I also love going to galleries/ museums; I love art, especially innovative new artists that make you think.
I love to cook! I am still a beginner but am trying my hardest to learn new dishes, especially healthy eating. I find healthy eating and exercising a challenge in society today and strive to keep my life long and prosperous by being as healthy as possible, with consideration to my love for beer and chocolate :).
I love most those nights where you party all night with great friends, new and old - silver and gold, where the fun doesn't end till your damn well ready for it to be over!
