My mission is the meet interesting people both at home and abroad.
*USE OFFICIAL COUCH REQUEST. NO PERSONAL MESSAGES FOR REQUEST
This is not freeloading.org or an air BnB alternative for those unaware virgins. This is about fun. This is about cultural exchange.
This is almost impossible to fill out, eh? Say too much in all it's gory detail and you come off crazy. Fill it out too little and seems suspicious. I will try to represent an overall personality type and let the references fill in the blanks.
Ideally you will be OVER 25
If you ask me, I accept your request and plan on your arrival, do not keep looking and then 3 days later cancel. Ypui will get a negative review. You will get the Philly curse that shall forever shred your bowles.
"I don't know about art but i know what I like" - Lux interior
Adventures in art, traveling and music are my main loves. The newness. The unexpected. The unfolding yet familiar fates all boiling into one great time.
I would hope that I was selected to host, not just the one that said yes to an email blast. I am not gonna make you read a story and sneak in a code word you must say..etc. Part of me understands the maximum learning experience of roulette wheel of strangers, part of me wants to keep it loosely marginalized. It is my home.
PHILOSOPHY: ART is pART of pARTy
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
* MAY 2017 UPDATE ** I HAVEN'T HOSTED IN A YEAR, BOOOOO, ITS ABOUT TIME
^^HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by giving the wide eyed traveler a clean relaxed spot to rest. It is a 2 floor home with 2 areas to surf. My actual downstairs couch is vintage and a lil thin. There is large open area for an air matress. There is also an upstairs room also for the air matress.
I have spacious options for the road weary and know a thing or two about above and underground party spots when its time to explore.
I like off the beaten path stuff.
*UPDATE 5 MAY 2017 ^^ My wife is in S Africa finishing school for the next 4 weeks.
***not that she'd mind but lets pretend and have an 80s movie cheese out
updatete 4: Jan 2016. I have not been able to host for a while getting domesticated and taking care of some real world stuff. I hope this pause in hosting does not reflect poorly, since i plan to travel in 2016. I have not given up or forgot about you.
update 3: 2014 after being signed off for a while and now reopening I have noticed the early 20s do not read profiles and seem to not care about host's acceptance into thier HOME. I have accepted a few early 20s and a few days later they say they found somewhere else will complete disregard to my stance. INFURIATING.
update 2: 2012 Now that i have been involved for a stint, one thing jumps out. It is ALL about the people. At first I mostly took this as a way for peeps to save some bucks and sleep in interesting places. While this is a definite positive side effect, for me it is truly about learning the local community in which my surfer came from. I can look up Female Brazilian water polo on Wiki, but to hear personal depictions really sends it home (thanks Rafa)
update 1: had a great time in Brazil. Was there for 5 weeks and got a good dose of exposure to the true power of a community. Well organized fun and engaging I got to witness the true potential of this site.
I enjoy innovations and creativity. In music, art, design, conversation, dance, beer recipes.... all life.
Above ground tree roots and their mangled sea-serpent type nature.
The word platypus.
The word smock.
color projections on top of people wearing white.
High altitude views over looking structures and canyons.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like the movie about the book with the killer soundtrack.ave
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i saw a kid with head phones crossing the street absolutely destroyed by a speeding car. We assumed we just witnessed death. However he stands up, brushes his shoulder off, looks around, takes off his headphones and tosses them in the trash as he calmly walked down the block shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head.
