About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Help those who can't help themselves.

ABOUT ME

I will usually try anything once and if i can make another person smile, i feel accomplished :) I am currently teaching special education at the elementary school level and am now enjoying my summer break which is well needed! I lived in Spain for three years and traveled around quite a bit, which I miss terribly. I played soccer for 15 years until my back had too much pain to continue. I love music, reading, photography, cooking, camping, cycling, and philosophy.

PHILOSOPHY

"As for me, all I know is that I know nothing."-Socrates

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy cooking and having conversations that may open our minds to different perspectives, positively charging our spirits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Portugal, Hungary, and France. Each experience was incredibly humbling and gave me the opportunity to really get to know the culture as well as memorable conversations and a few good meals. It was a perfect time to learn about places that were hidden or overlooked by tourists and gave me an opportunity to prove that not all Americans are ignorant or careless.

Interests

Learning and knowing the world and its people. I enjoy cycling, quality food and a good beer! Soccer is absolutely my favorite sport, but I enjoy watching almost any sport.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste is pretty eclectic and I'm always open to new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Spain without the language was an amazing life-changing experience. Working in special education filled my heart with a new love for life and an appreciation for mankind of different natures and abilities.

Teach, Learn, Share

Seeing as most hosts are working full time, I would be more than willing to cook a few meals and do some light cleaning if need be.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Cayman Islands, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Portugal

Countries I’ve Lived In

Spain, United States
