Im a singer/songwriter born, raised and currently still living in Scotland's central belt, half an hour either way to Edinburgh or Glasgow. I write my own songs and have played in various bands over the years. I currently play acoustic sets all over Scotland, and have played London, Birmingham, Manchester and also a few gigs in Spain. Im playing my friends wedding ceremony in New Jersey in July. I have my own house, no kids, and work in my friends company as sales support part time.

I am a fussy eater though (yep..one of those) and don't really eat chicken/poultry, fish/seafod or eggs, amongst other stuff. Pain in the butt i know

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, firstly i think its great so may people open up their homes and lives to complete strangers. It restores my faith in humanity when all you normally see on the news and social media is doom and gloom. I believe humanity is better than it's portrayed.

There is a sense of adventure to it. Its a different, yet great way to meet new people and friends, and also share experiences and stories from the other side of the world.

Im also looking to perform my music to as many different people as possible. Would be more than happy to do a mini acoustic concert in your house, or possibly seeking help from locals to find a local venue to play.

Interests

I like writing songs and performing. Im no Van Halen or Jeff Buckley but i can strum some chords and hold a tune. I record my own songs at home too.

I love alternative history, I read and watch alot on this subject and am fascinated by ancient sites and structures around the world whose construction and the knowledge (of the time) to do so defy explanation.

I do try to meditate, and am getting better at quieting the mind, although im easily distracted.

I like a game of badminton, and probably think im better than i am.

I love the paranormal, UFO's stories, and have had a couple of ghostly experiences. I am also am fascinated in the developments in quantum psychics

Movies: Back to the Future 123, The Goonies, Shawshank, Napoleon Dynamite, Dumb and Dumber, The Matrix, Starwars, Indiana Jones, Walk the Line, Chopper, Green Mile, Pulp Fiction, Friday, Bond, Bourne, most of the comic book/superhero franchises. Guilty pleasures are The Notebook and Notting Hill.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whilst in my band Rewired in 2015, we were very lucky to have written and produced our EP with Grammy award winning songwriter/producer Eliot Kennedy. Watching a master of his craft do what you aspire to first hand was a dream come true.

Ive also performed at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall, The Kelvin Hall, and was part of a world record where the most people dressed as Sherlock Holmes were in one place. This was for a brain cancer charity.

I could teach a few chords on the guitar.

I could teach you a good few Scottish phrases to prepare you for any journey to land of the haggis.

I'd be interested in learning anything new.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The main thing i can share is my music. I rarely travel without a guitar. So if you wanted a night of live acoustic music, then I'd be more than happy to play. Get your friends round and make a night of it.

I would say I'm good company. Id like to think id have good conversational skills in most subjects, although don't get me started on conspiracy theories. I wont shut up.
