Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer psychological movies, movies that are against mass culture. I love directors as Pasolini, Vertov, Kubrick, ... One of my favourite films is 'Harold & Maude' from Hal Ashby. Recently I saw the film 'Animals are beautiful people' from Jamie Uys, a beautiful nature documentary from the 70'.
I also love experimental film. Stan Brackhage, Len Lye, Ron Rice, Jonas Mekas

Right now I'm listening to Anouar Brahem, but it could also be for example Herbie Hancock, Buena Vista Social Club, Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf,Georges Brassens, Algia Mae Hinton, Ali Farka Touré, Patti Smith, The Roots of Chicha, Perota Chingo, Led Zeppelin, Branford Marsalis, Jan Garbarek, Mahalia Jackson, Amalia Rodrigues, Eddie Vedder, polyphonic music (classical, f.e. Josquin Desprez, Caccini,... )etc. etc. etc.

Most of the time I read anthropological books, I'm really interesting in Anthropology and I'm planning to do this study after my study of art history. At the moment I'm reading 'Expectations of Modernity' from Ferguson, a really interesting book about the copperbelt in Zambia in the mid 60's and the concept of modernity. I also read the book 'Veiled Sentiments' from Abu-Lughod, she stayed for a couple of years in the Bedouin society (Awlad 'Ali) in Egypt. Also reading about the Yoruba (Bascom), and there is more more more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

sitting on a terrace and watching the people walking by, those are moments of total relaxation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to play some instruments: Accordeon, piano, mouth harmonica, ukulele, flute. I always have an instrument with me!
